  • Ok, got my hack bike, tough as hell, steel frame, its a bit heavy, have had to add some gearing due to a dodgey knee, has been my project for a while and I love it, but now I fancy something new as a second bike, something stiffer and lighter that I could enjoy riding fixed, but don't want another project at the mo.

So, its kind of come down to the Dolan Track Champion and the Fuji Track 2.0, both at £600.

The Fuji as a mass manufacturer has the capacity to be higher quality at that price range.

But the Dolans' are well thought of also have the benefit of NOT being a mass manufacturer!

    Thoughts?

  • What I'd really like is a 2011 Fuji Track 1.0 or pre 2011 Track Pro, but virtually impossible to find.

Might go for the Dolan Seta if I can work out the finances!

  • I'd rather have a Fuji than a Dolan.

  • Yeah, but as Evans have taken over as the sole distributer for Fuji in the UK now, no one has any!

Been in contact with Evans today and they don't even know if, never mind when, they'll have any of the 2012 Tracks instock.

The only model I can find is the 2011 Track 2.0, not my first choice as I liked the 1.0 and Pro for the in built seat mast and the 2012 models for the new frames and aero seat tube and post (plus they is nice bikes I've been informed!).

But I'm more concerned about the quality of the frame, as this is probably gonna be the basis of a HHSB, so thinking the Fuji too atm.

  • what about the one I posted on the slave thread? Offer him £350 for it, leaves you change for some nice parts and a sick powdercoat...

  • Ha, yeah, that would have done, but someones already put in for more than that.

Plus I could get 0% finance on both the Dolan and the Fuji new! :P

  • £370 was a pricedrop. the bike is still available. The new ones are admittedly nicer, they are also twice the price....

  • If only I had the money right now I would... well I do have the money, but if I did that, I wouldn't be able to eat for next 2 weeks.

  • Eat? Pah there is no need for that... welcome to salvery, you better get used to it.

  • I think i got the last 2011 1.0 from evans!

    The 2012 is on www.velodromeshop.net

  • Looks like someones taken that Fuji off his hands already now, although I have PM'd 2nd dibs if he can wait.

My flat's small enough as it is though, I can just about get another bike in I reckon, but that will do me no good if I'm not alive to ride the damn thing in two weeks!

And me dad is already moaning about me filtching food over at me folks as it is.

I think I shall bide my time, save aside me pennies, and unleash it upon a serious candidate that I can do proper salvery to!

    Mwuahahahaha! ¦D

  • I think i got the last 2011 1.0 from evans!

    The 2012 is on www.velodromeshop.net

DAMN THEM!!! I've emailed them, called them and everything and they swore blind they didn't have any 2011 track 1.0s! I CURSE THEM!!

But, on a better note, this does mean I can save for the 2012 model! :D

  • It was listed as discontinued for a while and then a 56cm popped up one day just before xmas so i ran to the shop to hold it for me. Seemed like fate or something, well that's what i told my girlfriend!

Felt odd hacking into with a hacksaw before i could ride it!

  • To be fair then, sounds like it was meant to be yours.

I need somewhere between a 56cm and a 58cm frame, but VelodromeShop.net have a 56cm 2011 frame for only £540 now... just hope its still there in two weeks.

  • Well, as nothing in favour of the Dolan, now all I gotta do is track down one of those Fujis.

... and have enough damn money for it.

  • or get a Leader like spotters, real sweet slave frame and they've been getting sold cheaply if you can find one.

  • Didn't realise those 8-bars were that price...

  • That 8bar looks pretty sweet actually, and I ain't seen to many of 'em about.

  • and this too please:

i've nbeen told its the same as the fuji track pro

  • ^also available in 64c-t checks wallet

  • Don't like the orange one, as you said, just looks like a Fuji.

If I had to pick I'd go for
