It's the part with the pond in the middle of the park that is gated. The broad expanse of grass is obviously not fenced. There is a similar ride I used to do around the pond in battersea park, but I think they have night time security there now, killjoy arseholes.
Was thinking about going to richmond tonight but after 6 pints in waterloo i thought bollocks and ended up at pechkam rye park. passed a few locked gates, found an open one and span down a dark winding path through trees and past a silent pond, it was all still and quiet. I turned my lights off and all I could see was the next bend, hit the grass and nearly stacked it a few times, skidded round a couple of hairpin bends, nearly hit an old stone fountain, but the pond stayed quiet and black and after a few laps I knew the bends and picked up some speed and I was all alone and it was lovely. I'm going to do it again next week and bring beer. The narrow tracks and nasty corners are lots of fun in the cold dark air. and theres no deer to crash into.
