For Sale: Genesis Day 01 60cm (2012) and all my cycling stuff

Medical problem forcing sale of my bike and therefore all my related gear. Basically I have a degenerative disc problem which cycling is really exacerbating, I bought this bike very recently in an attempt to alleviate some pain thinking the steel frame and fatter tyres would help. They didn't.

The bike is an almost entirely stock Genesis Day 01 Cross size 60cm CTC.

Black perforated leather San Marco Rolls - also basically as new, slight marks to rails where fitted but the top is in immaculate condition.

Knog Boomer front light and Knog Skink rear light, very good used condition - no problem with circuitry etc. new batteries in both. Price: SOLD

Black Shimano SPD-SL 105 pedals. Left pedal has been kerbed slightly, right pedal slight scuff from leaning against wall. Both perfectly operable and work like new. Price: SOLD

Crud guards front and rear - nearly new, owned as long as the bike. Bit dirty, but then thats the point. No rubber bands for front guard, attached to my bike by bosses. SOLD WITH BIKE

Mixed tools: Topeak multi-tool with chain tool, tyre levers etc. A separate pedal allen key and a socket wrench/spanner for axle nuts. SOLD

Shimano R077 shoes, size UK11/EUR46 - as old as the bike and used no more than 4 times a week for 6 weeks. Yellow float cleats included. Worn, but in good condition. Price £25 posted.

Looks like a fun bike!

It really is, handles very nicely and feels solid as a rock. Brakes are alright for Tektro's with stock pads. Wheels roll forever! Great bike, but when your legs keep going numb while riding it signals the end sadly.

Gutted.

Sorry to hear that you're having to give up cycling. I have the same degenerative disc disease, but so far cycling hasn't made it worse. I imagine you've tried bike fits etc?

I'll admit that no I haven't tried a bike fit, but I have tinkered endlessly and can't get anything to work.

Really sad to hear that you are quitting riding- have you asked your docs/physios about riding, apart from fiddling with your own set-up? Recumbent?

My heart sank when I read your thread title. I hope you find a way to cycle again.
