I gather this has been refurbished? If so, when, and who did the paint, please?
Cheers

The frame was refurbished in Italy two years ago (that's where I got it). It came from an elderly gentleman, sorry I don't know the restorer - though whoever it was, they've done a fantastic job - used correct foil transfers, nicely cleaned up threads etc.

stuarts, much as the bike is beautiful. You still appear to be trying to flog it on Retrobike, against the forum rules.

The bike is gorgeous, anybody know how one would be sure this is a de rosa frame, what is the distinguishing factor?

Ditto. For this kind of money, I'd want to be sure. Is there a serial number on the frame?
-

the vendor says that the respray has obscured the frame number , which is a shame, and i don't know enough to be sure, i can't see any pantographed parts of the frame, i think the 90's remakes were de rosa panto'd , if this was an early one it would be hen's teeth.

Could this be converted to a fixeh?
Thats a beautiful racing bike. Why do you want to convert that to a fix? Your 'aving a larf!
For Sale,
My beautiful Merckx. Frame is 57cm and one of the De Rosa made frames. Super Record throughout, with the exception of the seatpost and pedals (these are NOS Gipiemme Sprints).
All new cables, bar tape, genuine Campag lever hoods, chain etc.
Rims are MA40's not sprint - so much more practical but truly classic looking with Vittoria Evo tyres.
Saddle is Rolls and bars & stem 3TTT.
£1,100. inc. secured UK postage - but I'd prefer personal; collection (Northampton).
Only selling as I'm buying another classic car and need to clear out some bikes.
Will also be posting a 55cm Benotto in similar condition/spec and a KAS team replica with FULL Mavic SSC groupset.
