Wow, well this really took off!
I went to see The House of Bernada Alba at the Almeida last night, a version of Lorca's play that has been relocated to rural Iran. It was great, fantastic set and good acting. Shohreh Aghdashloo is fantastic as Bernada, and she has an incredible voice. Very simply done, just a one-room set and only 7 characters with speaking roles (all of whom are women). Really nice place too, I'd never been to the Almeida before.
Also, Damian Lewis was in front of me at the Box Office queue.

I recommend Noises Off. The whole production was done really well and staged very cleverly, and it's really very funny.

I'm going to see a bunch of the Shakespeare-in-other-languages plays at the Globe in a few months.
Well hyped for knowing what's happening not thanks to the words for once.
I really like the National Theatre, I went to see Juno and the Paycock there reasonably recently and it was a damn good watch.
I went to see a production of Midsummer night's Dream at the Cambridge Arts Theatre a few weeks back that was really good, they had a whole dead tree at the back, and strip-lighting for the fairies, bulb lighting for the mortals. Lots of movement as well. A good production, particularly for a student production. -

Not cheap and a bit on the uncomfortable side, but the Royal Court has been consistently good for as long as I can remember -this particularly

Gawd that was pretty awful

Really?

Nah it actually wasnt that bad. It was done in a good way by Simon McBurney, I just found it a tad complicated and a bit ridiculous in places.
Not complaining but I dont understand why one of the girls in the play spend the entire second half running around stage naked?
I was surprised to find there wasn't already a threatre thread. There's even one for darts FFS.
Going to the theatre is one of the things that makes me really grateful for living in London, there are some really great opportunities here, which I don't take advantage of anywhere near enough. Thanks to day tickets I've seen some amazing pieces without ever paying more than £15.
Tonight I went to see The Comedy of Errors at the National courtesy of my girlfriend's mum. Not a huge fan of Lenny Henry but the play itself was really enjoyable. Bit OTT at times but the sets are amazing and it was pretty well acted and well realised.
Seen anything good lately? Anything shit?
Is the Ladykillers any good?
Did anyone see Broken Glass either at the Tricycle or in the West End? I really wanted to but didn't get round to it at either.
Come on luvvies!
