It's a discussion for another place, but I think that any tourney game over 15 mins should be unlimited goals.
Agreed.

First to 5 is for kids

Yes the question isn't 'should we have a half-time?' The question is, 'why the fuck are we still playing first to 5!?!'

10 minutes each way, unlimited goals.

Should remove throw in culture from competitive play. -

I'd like to move the discussion on first to 5 to here, if possible:

moving the conversation to a private forum will denied the other non London peps to chip in. and later on someone will complain that London rules are not the same as the other polo communities
someone create a sub forum, like the strategies one, with all the rules thread, and please keep it public

Non-London polo players can join the LHBPA and have access to the LHBPA forum/input on our conversations, we welcome everyone's opinion!
I think Bill moved the conversation as it's mainly a "united London" thing, it also has ramifications for the game format of all LHBPA events (London Open, Hell's Belles, London Invitational, etc).

I want to raise it, as the LHBPA rules rep, as a rule that the LHBPA wants to see changed. By moving it to the LHBPA forum, I can see what the members want to do, as opposed to whoever happens to be on this forum.

I've said it in the LHBPA thread but I'm with Rik. Rules debates should be public.

Jono, I understand that anyone can pay the £5 and be a member of the LHBP, but realistically how many Germans, French, Italians, Swiss... will do that?? not many
what we need is a European forum where all this rules can be discuss openly and in public, but you are suggesting to put them in a subforum where only 50-60 people has access, I dont get it.

^ agree, seems a little backward to open a discussion about rule changing that will more than probably affect NS tournaments and UK wide polo. Plus the LHBPA is London's polo association, mixed messages?

Look, I'm supposed to be the rules office of the LHBPA. I don't have a mandate to represent any other polo scene (as has been pointed out to me by polo players from other polo scenes), so I don't want to claim to represent anyone apart from the LHBPA membership if I'm trying to come up with some sort of official LHBPA line that can be endorsed by the LHBPA. I would love there to be a European forum, but I don't think it's appropriate to designate this forum as it, especially in view of how divergent London's views are from the polo 'mainstream'.

that's why having a open conversation and allowing more people will make London's views closer the mainstream

No, having some sort of structure will do that. Not just a free-for-all on the internet.

no Bill, speaking with the "mainstream" will get the views closer, as Jono did en Rouen with Greg and Will, IMO

I give up. How do we define the mainstream? Who speaks for European polo? It's just not clear, the rules aren't clear, I just want to see a little more structure, and we have that structure in London, so what's the problem with using it? I am quite happy to see any kind of discussion you like here or anywhere, I just don't want to represent that discussion on behalf of London to Europe or NA.

Bill, I don't know who are the mainstream, but after the LII you nearly quit reefing because of that mainstream
