Warwick 100 Charity Ride (100 km or 100 miles)

  • "Shakespeare would have ridden this and written about it! Seriously, the Warwick 100 bike ride is a great ride through the famous playwright’s favourite county and you won’t be disappointed. The Warwickshire countryside has plenty to offer on a Sunday morning in the spring and what better way to explore it than on a bike. Choose from the 100km or the 100-mile route which features some good climbs to put your winter training to the test."

So, who's up for doing this fixed? Me and a friend are willing. Would be nice to get a small team of fixed gear riders together.

    More info: http://www.action.org.uk/warwick_100

  • Think it's a little ambitious for me this year. I will, however, be doing the Mike Vaughans 38 miler :) Might start a separate thread about that one...

  • Is there a hundred metre?

  • I just signed up for the 100 miler. Anyone else up for this then? I need some other fixed gear people to go with!

I need help with my sponsorship too. If you want to sponsor me then go to this link: http://www.action.org.uk/sponsor/josephxvx

    Cheers, guys!

  • Right guys, I got a refund on this after doing research into the organisation and discovering they test on animals and/or fund testing on animals. However, as the roads aren't closed for this event I will still be tagging along anyway.

Who else is coming along? Me and two friends are going to attempt it fixed. Would be cool if we could get more together!

    !

So do/did Mars, do you boycott all mars products too? You'd suprised just how many companies use vivisection.

  • Who cares about animal testing, unless it's banned outright you'll never stop it.

  • Animal testing saves lives, sad fact

I have signed up for the 100km (actual distance 68 miles) i guess ill be doing it alone?

  • I don't eat sweets - they're naughty! 95% of the stuff I buy has one ingredient and is most often from a small company or which states no animal testing. :)

Are you doing it on the road bike, Joe? Good luck! I'm hoping my legs are up for it. Been about a year since I last did 100 miles in one go!

  • Well if i'm doing it alone ill go on my road bike, if i have some other fixed riders to ride with i think ill do it fixed, but i could do with a new rear tyre or a front brake some how...

How are you going to join in the ride without paying then? every one doing the ride needs to wear a helmet to by the way

  • The roads aren't closed (I'm pretty sure) so there's nothing stopping me following along :)

  • But every gets lil' timing chips and numbers, all start off at the gate in groups of 20, you would have to join on the main road really, then we would have to find each other, seems complected to me...

  • I'll join as soon as they come onto the road. I have a bike computer. We'll cross paths at some point :)

  • PM me your number then, would make it much easier.

Bit nervous about doing it fixed : /
