Headtube extender?

Posted on
  • So I want to replace the forks on a Fuji Track with some carbon road forks, but doing so will drop the front of the bike by about 2cm. This headtube extender looks like it will make up the difference nicely, but is it a bad idea, or has anyone here used something similar with success?

    Maybe I'm stupid. I don't understand this.
If you replace the track forks by a road model (usually longer than a track fork), the front of the frame doesn't drop, but it rises.

  • But the fuji track has huge forks... I would say the drop would result in quicker handling and hugely improved aesthetics. Try it without the extender, you might like it. (wait till you've tried it before cutting your steerer though...)

  • yeah I much prefer my fuji with the carbon forks I fitted and the slight drop at the front, makes it easier to get one leg over the bars when ur doing them sik skidz don't it?

  • do those things fit up inside the head tube like a bearing cup? Le changement du geometry would be my main worry.
