Roberts 1994 Respray + Campag 1999 Titanium Groupset Project

Frameset

The Red Roberts bought from Hugo7 has come back from Argos in beautiful shape. The guys did a fantastic job and all in the space of around 5-6 weeks. I asked for pearl white with ice blue fade on the sides (£140+£45). Old style Roberts decals and Headbadge fitted (£52) and a new Campagnolo Record headset fitted (£75). Couple of dents needed filling in too (£10). The results:

Stem

Came across this lovely stem for the Roberts and I just had to have it. (Compliments to Tel who polished it up to such a high standard, Thanks bud) + (Compliments to Jambon for the wedge which was missing on the stem)

Beautiful. Back in the day I ordered a similar paint job for my 1987 Ron Cooper, except the blue was a bit deeper and I remember feeling a bit disappointed that the gold lettering didn't have the red outline. Maybe I'd seen a Roberts done like this at the time and assumed they all came like that! Nice touch with the stem.

It's not, just reminded me of it being so distinctive. Funny enough though I think you bought my 1R stem for the wedge bolt to put in the Roberts stem.

I think I did actually. Forgot to put my compliments to you for the wedge! Groupset is nearly complete, it's record titanium 1998/9 with shamals. More pics later this evening :)

Tel did a great job with the polishing, from the sounds of it you may as well just go and post it in porn.

Yeah he did. And very good price too for the work he did. Still need some bits and pieces to complete all the parts I need. I'll let you guys decide whether it goes to porn or not.

Wow! That frame looks amazing, and the final build sounds like it's going to be quite something!

Chainset

So glad to see it being rebuild to such a high standard. It was an awesome frame, and seeing this helps take out the sting from having to sell it.

Can't wait to see it finished.

Shifters

Campagnolo Record 9 Speed Shifters 1998

Rare as I think they only made these for one year. Opted for these instead of the 'period correct' Campagnolo Carbon Record Shifters 1999 as they look more apt for the classic touch I am trying to convey. Not sure whether I should keep the black hoods or get them changed to white. They are in good condition apart from some minor scrapes to the sides.

Thanks hugo, it's going well :) Offer still stands though, if I ever sell, I'll let you know.
