Really dumb question alert from someone who should know more - is there enough room in the dropouts to run it fixed?

Plenty. Run this badboy geared though!

A fixed hub is 120mm. This frame is 127mm so you can easily put a few ml of axle spacers on (behind the locknuts ideally).
You can usually grab some spacers from your LBS mechanic in exchange for biscuites.

Very rare 80ties time trial frame.
New old stock high quality time trail frame made of Columbus tubing custom build by Diamant Belgium. Painted in nice colour scheme with perfect decalls and chrome. Including chromed fork (with small dent) for 26inch front wheel.
This high end frame was never build up as bike and has only some very minor shop wear. A few chips on the downside of the upper tube/headset lug and inside the corner of the rear stays (see pictures). Ofcourse no dents, scratches or rust at all. The chrome is very shiny. The frame has all marks of the top range Diamant frames like engravements all over the frame in the lugs. Gipiemme drop outs and beautiful lugs.
I'm not sure the fork is the original one. It has no signs or matching details but fits perfectly with the frame. There is a small dent on the rear side of the left fork stay (see picture). Overall the fork is shiny and a perfect combination with the frame.
Seat Tube 57cm (c-t)
Rear dropout width 127 mm
needs 27.2 mm seatpost
