Hey Todd I would like 2 kojak 35's
-
• #3
Cool. I'll check what size they are later. Can't remember whether they were 32 or 35...
-
• #4
32's will be ok too, just need some lighter tyres now I've found out how heavy me marathon pluses are
-
• #5
I'm tempted by a pair of supremes. Is the difference in weight to the marathon plus going to be noticeable then?
-
• #6
700 32c Plus is 800g.
700 32c Supreme is 375g.You'd notice it for sure!
-
• #7
I only have 28's though. But 310g is pretty good.
Weight has been reduced on the side walls and thick grip. They still have a deep puncture belt. -
• #8
The Plus has Smart Guard (super thick), the Supreme has Speed Guard (about half the thickness and a thinner strip).
With front brake bias the Supremes will still last ages.
-
• #9
I'll take 1 Supreme.
-
• #10
Would you be at work around 6 tonight? I'm heading up past CSM
-
• #11
I'll take one supreme too. Weekend would be good, but can pick up from CSM too.
-
• #12
Don't have them with me today.
Can take some to work tomorrow if anyone is interested?Only have a few though...
-
• #13
Yeah, I'll take 2 supremes.
Can come to CSM if needed.

• #18

can i ask. would people recommend popping 1 supreme on the front or back? i am trying to lighten up my bike and i am tempted to put it on the front as i am having front end issues. would this be a silly idea? i am pretty clueless. sorry. cheers.

Yep, a lightweight (soft/grippy compound) tyre on the front and a heavier (hard/thick/skid-proof compound) on the rear makes lots of sense.
If you don't skid much then go for soft/grippy/light tyres on both the front and back.

Thanks Jono. im also going dual brake soon so wish i bought two now. need to lighten that pomp up! Thanks again.
-
• #22
What exactly do you mean by front end issues though?
(not that I'm disagreeing with jono, I've got a marathon, which is very heavy on the back and a lighter tyre on the front)

i have been chatting to nik and ryan about my bike set up. its hard to explain but the front end is very reactive, i cant turn pedal very well. if i do, it seems to whip me off. i am changing folks, trewing my front wheel, longer stem and putting my saddle position forward. aswell as putting the supreme on the front. i hope all this is going to make the diffrence.
just wish i didnt try out that beautiful Nik bike.

I switched out a 32c Marathon to a 38c Nimbus and felt an immediate improvement in rolling resistance and handling at the front... Got another one for the back now and the bike feels much better, lighter but still heavy as fuck... ;]
