    1. Shimano Nexus 7 geared hub wheel newly laced to a 26' Sun Rhyno Lyte with Sapim Strong spokes, with a shifter in usable condition and and a Marathon Plus withloads of life left. £70

    2. 2) Geoffrey Butler Road frame: Colombus Aelle.
      Seat tube: 49cm (c-t)
      Top tube: 51cm (c-c)

This was the bike that got me enthusiastic about bikes. Rides beautifully and gave me alot of joy when I was younger. The chrome fork I had with it has gone on some other long gone project and was replaced by a bog standard peugeot fork. This comes free with the frame if you want it. The paintwork is pretty scratched and chipped (see pics) but still looks good imo.
Also with the frame is a nice but scratched fluted seatpost (velo saddle for another £5), a Tange Headset with spacers and a BB (type unknown).

  • what's the bar clamp size on the tioga stem?

  • errr how do i measure it?

  • are the criterium bars a 26 ?

  • 26.4

  • and am guessing the ITM are a 25.4? maybe try it with them an see if it's a little roomy? or i guess you could measure it accross with a ruler?

  • Dibs on open prison risers assuming they are 25.4mm, black and uncut / wide. edit - and in good nick.

  • the Open Prison Risers are black but fairly scratched (cosmetic only) and a bit cut down (ill measure in a bit. they fit the Profile stem so from looking on the net that makes it a standard BMX clamp size of 22.2 but it seems that alot of people use a shim to bring it to 25.4....

I'd be ok is scratches are mainly hidden by grips and their not too cut down. open prisons come in 25.4 and 22.2 i think - i am definitely after 25.4, partly because i have just bought a 25.4 stem and partly because i want to avoid bmx spec parts where possible. I'd rather not use shims anywhere on a bike unless absolutely necessary.

    thx.

  • @jeez

ok so I just did this:
Take the piece of paper and wrap it around the bar right where the stem would clamp it. Mark the paper where it overlaps itself, at one of the edges of the paper. Once you unwrap the paper from the bar, you'll then have a fairly accurate measurement of the circumference of the bar. Take that measurement with your ruler. To get the diameter, just divide that number by pi (3.14). Your number probably won't match any of the "standards" exactly, but should be close enough to one of them to put your mind at ease.

the answer was 23.2 so that prob means its a 22.2 clamp size, sorry (OP updated)

  • Are the bars gone?

  • Correction: are the cinelli bars gone?

  • everything still available...

  • pics updated

  • ah right, yeah Tioga stem is a bit different to what I was after, if it ain't oversized then it'll definitely be 25.4.

  • quill stem dibs?

  • sure, PM to confirm and arrange collection

  • What about the Nervar crankset?

  • eh?

  • It's in page 2 of your flickr album.

    eh?

    What about the Nervar crankset?

  • hmmm cheers beagle, id forgotten bout those. dont think those ever sold

@hat hair yours for £20 when I can dig em out from the shed?

  • Sounds good,

Any chance you know what length they are, and BCD?

    Cheers

  • 170 and 128 BCD

  • 128 BCD? I don't suppose you have a chainring that fits as well?
I'd be much more tempted if it was 122...

  • @hat hair no chainring sorry....
