get a 400mm length of 22mm copper central heating pipe, cut 150mm cross slots in it, then flare these 4 ends out slightly. secure the frame at the lugs or headtube. insert the tool into headtube and engage the 4 ends against cup lip. give a smartish tap or two with a 1 or 1.5lb hammer and the cup will drop out
turn headtube round and resecure, repeat on remaining cup

You don't need two threads.

The forks:
The question:
How do I get the race off the above fork, without damaging anything, and then put it on this one:
It looks like something very narrow would be needed- such as a knife blade, and then leverage.
This however sounds like a bad idea on a fully carbon fork.
Help!

as per other thread, type "crown race removal" into google

Just be gentle and lever it out with a flat bladed screw-driver. It should come off relatively easily.

I get mine out with a long flat blade screwdriver and a rubber mallet. A good tap should do it. If the cups are that tight, getting them back might be a problem. If you're respraying, make sure to trim excess paint off the head tube. You need a headset press to put the cups back but you could make one with a length of threaded rod, two big nylon washers, two metal washers and two big nuts. Do one at a time and carefully. Just tighten the whole apparatus until the cup pops in.

What Bear said to get the crown race off. Is it an unbroken ring? Some races have a break in them which makes installation easier. If it's a full one you could drop a bit of plastic pipe over the steerer and tap the race down with a rubber mallet.
