I'm almost 100% sure these bikes were equipped with Shimano.

BTW, they did use 531c (mainly).
Only in some cases higher, more expenive, tube sets.
Not for TT frames though.I saw most of the TVM bikes in real and supplied a lot of materials to the team mechanics/riders/service course.
Never had any ontact to GJT.
1st, because he joined the team not that long and when he did it was quite late.
2nd he was (and certainly still is) a weird guy, always on his own. E.g. having (baby food) dinner in the team bus, while the resr of the team was eating in the hotels restaurant.
So, I can't give that many details. -

James, I'm hoping the project has enough scope for you to sort out your barnet too:

Oh, and slightly off-topic, but the 1987 professional lo-pro looks totally bad-ass.
That's Campag Record, so if they moved to Shimano the it's fair to assume Dura-Ace. Quite often for TT bikes, they'll be spec'ed with heavier gauge tubing so as to be stiffer which may explain the choice of 531c over 753.
If you change the bars, remember to keep it comfy so you can still ride it!

I would run it with Alesa rims/wheels (i think optional in '94 catalogue)
Alesa Disc rear, Gipiemme tecno 5 spoke (alu) front, like this one (though it's an older one): http://link.marktplaats.nl/523382247 -

that's all i have i'm afraid.. maybe someone on here can tell you what the components are from such small images. the seller did say that he'd had it resprayed (hence the 'renovated' 531 sticker), but that all the components were original. he bought it from a team mechanic, apparently.
good luck, sounds like an interesting project.

To me this looks like a melting pot of a lot of different components.
Repainted frame/forks
HED disc rear
Mavic Helium front wheel
ST-6500 Ultegra shifters
ITM bars/stem
BR-7400 / 7402 brakes -

i have recently bought one of these bikes from the same team with dag otto lauritzens name on it. mine is complete with all dura ace components. i had the same story of the bike having been used in the tour de france. i did some research and found the year to be 1994, the last year he did the tour de france. i am happy that the bike is original and was ridden in the tdf as i found it tucked away in the back of a bike shop having been there for a long time. the owner had contacts with the team too.
the fact that your bike doesn't have any original components makes me think it would have been a spare frame that someone has built up. i would still consider it quite an important frame though.
as a collector i always thought that owening a bike that was in the tdf would be a great bike to find. it's such a historic race that any bike from any era would be quite a thing to find i think.dtm0121

I'd love a complete spec if you have time!!!
If you really want to know original team specs, perhaps this person is your best shot.
Although I don't know if he still works at that company.http://www.endurasport.nl/index.php?id=56

here is a link to lots of photos of the bike as i bought it and then after the big strip down and clean. the only thing i changed were the handle bars as the original ones were really taty. i have kept them of course as they will be put back on in the future. i think they were maybe the bars preffered by Dag ( THE RIDER ) as they were from maybe 5 years earlier than the rest of the bike. as you know there are some really nice details to these frames.
