What a gang! My missus wants to come, and we've been thinking about doing it as part of a mini road trip, so we'll probably drive if she's free.
-
• #11
Asim mentioned earlier that he could probably get the Aston mini bus which fits 17 people, but we couldn't go longer than a few days. not sure on exact numbers. Fingers crossed it's in Paris. Then we have places to crash.

How are we going to decide teams?
Another round of seeding?
Wait for dates/details of the (probable) qualifying tournament?
-
• #13
We've nearly got enough for three teams there. I think it would be best to all sit round a table and decide between ourselves. I think seeding will pick the best individuals, rather than the best teams. I think Lucas and LJ will want to go too.

Update - Hannover has dropped out, so it's looking like it's going to be Paris, most likely 19/20/21 July, with a wild card on the 18th in Rouen, which would probably be limited to 20 teams.
As I have limited weekends off, I'm thinking I'd prefer to play at a local tournament than spectate at a foreign one, so I doubt I'll go if I don't qualify. Hopefully the UKHBPA will be sorted soon, and we can start the process of determining qualification.

Euros allocation up!
So this is a very important message I guess.
Here is the slots distribution for the EHBPC 2012.
How did we choose it. We sent a survey to 20 people in Europe from the different scenes. I was asking people to tell us, the number of teams from their country that would qualify for the TOP 32 and TOP 16. We ask them to give the name and line up for each of those teams. Then we checked at the results of the last tournaments this season and main events last years as WHBPC, EHBPC, and GM2.
Regarding to the result of the survey we will have 51 teams in the TOP 32 and 20 in the TOP 16 this year, France not include. ;o)
I tell you that beacause everybody is, regarding to this, overevaluating the level of his scene mainly for emotional and friendly reason. So don't be surprised if you have less spots than expected we were limited to 48 slots for the Euros and 20 slots for the wildcard tournament.
France : 8 (3 slots in the wildcard tournament)
UK + Ireland : 7 (3)
Germany : 7 (3)
Switzerland : 6 (2)
Spain + Portugal : 5 (2)
Italy : 5 (2)
Beneligue : 3 (1)
Poland/Austria/Croatia/Hungary/Czech Rep : 3 (3)
Wild Card : 3For Organising, because people working on it want to be part of it => Paris : 1 (Rouen 1)

It's going to be dang hard for a Birmingham team to even get in to the wild card tournament!
I think I'll see how we fare at Bristol this weekend before I make a decision on if I want to focus on it. Not feeling very confident at the moment.
We've talked a bit about this, but not really openly and inclusively, so here goes.
The location hasn't been decided yet, but it's likely to be northern Europe somewhere (Paris and Hannover have been mentioned) so much easier to get to than last year. A road trip would be cool.
I reckon, if we were to put together an 'A-Team' of three good players, who commited to doing a bit of travelling to other cities to play some team games over the spring, we would have a slim chance of qualifying for the tournament.
Alternatively, we could forget that dream and possibly send a few 'a/b/c' teams like we did to the London Open, and contest in a wild card tournament (if they have one).
(Bear in mind the worlds are likely to be in Geneva, too)
First thing is to guage interest -
