Sheldon brown is always a great place do cycle technical stuff. Also don't forget bb's have different thread sizes, British (probably 95%), Italian (prob about 4%), French (1% or less).
How do I measure a BB? and what do the numbers mean? I'm guessing from reading around that the first number in the pair is the with of the BB shell?
