Wanted: Waaaay OT: Custom Acrylic Cutting

Hi,

I need to get some 2 shapes cut from 1mm thick acrylic - dimensions are roughly 25cm by 8cm for each. I've contacted a bunch of laser cutting places, all of whom quote a minimum order of £30 and up to me... Just wondered if anyone here had any suggestions on anywhere where I wouldn't have to pay so much?

Those quotes are reasonable, material's going to be a fiver at least. If you know someone at art school or modelmakers that's the only way you'll get it done cheaper.

£30 doesn't seem too horrendous though, as conan stated you'll probably have to find a student to get it cheaper.

if you have the material and happen to be up north you could do it at the fablab in manchester for free on a fri/sat
