no idea I'm afraid but http://www.tandem-club.org.uk/_dboard.htm could be a good place to ask - they were useful when I had some questions....
looks like a good project.

You need a frame identification calculator....
In all seriousness, I have a friend who knows people into tandems, I'll give him a link to this on the offchance it proves fruitful. Don't forget that the CTC forum is sometimes useful for this kind of thing too!
Excited to see this built up. I know it's gorgeous and period-correct would be cool looking, but modern components could also make to a pretty bike, super functional, too? I guess I am saying this because i've never stuck with a period-correct project, it's always too hard to see thte thing sitting around whilst I source the bits.

have you checked the steerer tube and rear dropouts for numbers?

@citygent: I thought about modern components, but it's set up for SA 3 speed, which means weird spacing and no derailler hanger. If I'm going to get 27"/3 speed wheels, I might as well go all out, as that's most of the bike right there.
I guess I'm only really interested in period-correct rather than all original.
EDIT: Actually I just checked it, and it's 126 spacing in back. Deraillers here I come?

Or another type of internal hub? When reading on the spacing I thought of a SA 5speed w.Drum brake
Mainly, because there may be issues getting 27"x1-1/4 rims that are alloy, steel rims in the wet are horrific, even if you fit V brakes to the mounts rather than canti's.... However, I don't think a drum brake will be powerful enough for a tandem either... Are you sure it's 27 and not 700?
If you can get a nice enough shift with an axle derailleur hanger then I see no reason you shouldn't at least 8speed it!
Hey everyone
I just bought this tandem frame here on LFGSS classifieds. I originally just wanted to build it up as a beater, but now that I have it, I see it's in lovely condition and deserves period-correct parts, if not a full restoration. The only problem is that I have no idea what it is. Looks like it takes 27" wheels. Any clues?
Thanks!
