Pain to get hold of them. Generally I replace the freehub body with a 7 speed Hyperglide as cassettes are easier to find and even available new. On my own ride I have a new SRAM 9 speed respaced to 7 speed.

I notice when you buy a chainset, it rarely includes the rear cassette. Is it just seen as a disposable most of the time?
The campag cassette I bought recently was individual spockets/rings. Is that something that Shimano ever do?

I've a arabesque 6sp with 12-18 and am looking for something a bit larger for climbing. If I find one I'll let you know. If you could PM me with a price you'd be prepared to pay it'll helpe decide how much to spend on a replacement.
Cheers :)

Hi Benjam, cheers, will do.
I've just bought Peter V's Koga Miyata. It all looks hunky dorey, but needs a new cassette. I assume one can't really buy a 6 speed cassette in shops any more. Any one got one in decent condition, or know a place to go? Should I be making this a Hilary's problem?
Presumably it has to be Shimano to fit the free wheel. Anything else I have to look out for?
