Yeah, according to the travel web-sites, you only need it if you are coming from a country where there is a risk of yellow fever transmission, ie not the UK.

It's in the "recommended" list. My doctor said it's worth getting (although didn't feel it was that important for such a short stay). Over a month is "very recommended". Six months: "crucial", etc.
Bill might have to get jabbed by Nigerian customs officials as we enter the country (they can be funny about it), I wouldn't just go on legislation/requirements for your jabs, go with what your own doctor says, etc.

We're delivering 20 polo bikes to Nigeria for 14 Bike Co and will be trying to show off some mad grass polo bike skills to the horse polo contingent while we're at it (half time expo game during the horse polo cup matches).
We'll also be meeting some big money sporting types from IMG and IEG and will talk to them about how awesome bike polo is, etc.

To a certain degree it sounds like an opportunity that has previously been missed.
Been talking to a horsey girl at work and there's quite a lot of people that play grass polo and would probably enjoy hardcourt (and be really good) but aren't 'cyclists' so missout on all the stuff that is thrown out about hardcourt because it's mostly aimed at cyclists.
Having said that Nigeria wouldn't be my choice of location to do this!

By the way i'm not talking about rich people (if that's what 1% means?) but the stable boys and the like.

sounds like selling bike polo to the 1% to me.
Well no, Adam (main Nigerian contact) is actually interested to take the popularity of polo (horses) to the masses (bicycles) and has backing contacts at IMG who have already had success with creating grass polo leagues (and the like) for the masses in S. America.
The starting point is showcasing grass polo during their high-profile horse polo match, no doubt everyone involved also wants to create a new revenue stream from grass polo, but meh, it'll be a fun trip for the London contingent and the project would go ahead with (or without) our involvement.
I'm hoping we have a great trip, raise the profile for bike polo and source some contacts for the future development of hardcourt bike polo while we're at it.
Or it's all an elaborate scam, I'm starting to question the ~£20k I've invested to date...
To a certain degree it sounds like an opportunity that has previously been missed.
Maybe, maybe grass polo players just aren't keen on the hardcourt game? Paris would be the best location for a grass versus hardcourt tournament (they have an active grass polo scene still). London could get in touch with the Peddlers again (I've tried and not been responded to in the past).

Sorry, I don't get why it's useful to promote Hardcourt to the rich white men playing polo on horses in the oil colonies of west africa.

Polo (horse or bike) isn't useful, period.

What is there to say? Horse polo is the sport of rich people. The fact that in this case, it happens that most of the rich people who will be spectating (if not playing) will have black skins, is neither here nor there.
On the other hand, we, white middle class men, are depriving poor, young kids of sporting facilities provided by the state authorities right now (well, later on today). A classic example of the bourgeoisie gaming state subsidy for their own advantage.

Anyway, who wants to see a pic of Marc Sich jousting with a horse polo player?

I guess we see it in different ways.

Just to mention that I've just been to Kenya and they said they wouldn't let you into Africa without your Yellow Fever Certificate.
This sounds amazing btw, have an amazing time!
Yorgo has had to drop out of the Nigeria polo trip to Fifth Chukker last minute.
If you have the relevant jabs: Hep A, Hep B and Typhoid (the following are also recommended: Rabies, Meningitis and Yellow Fever) and can take next week off work then get in touch!
It's all expenses paid, although you will be required to carry a box with you (the bikes we're delivering). You'll be required to play a grass polo expo match next weekend and will be educating the resort about all things "bike polo" in the week.
We would need to get your visa sorted ASAP.
