Attempted component theft.

Just to let everyone know that while my bike was locked up outside the Asian supermarket between Royal Park Cellars and The Brudenell Social Club on Friday morning, someone tried to steal my stem/bars.

I think the only thing that stopped them was that I came out. and they didn't have time (or a different allen key) to undo my brake as well. If they'd gone for the seat post and saddle then they'd definitely have had them away.

The only person nearby (who was walking away, quickly and with his head down) was wearing trainers, possibly vans, skinny black jeans and a grey hoody so not exactly your typical chav/junky. It may or may not have been him though.

My friend Megan has also come out of the Hyde Park Picture house recently to find someone trying to take her saddle so be aware everyone!

Bastards! All I can suggest is to have a really shit bike with really shit components

I might have a look into pitlocks and start gluing bearings into all the allen sockets....

Ballbearings ftw - they come out fairly easy if you need to change anything

It's probably one of those hispeter Asians.
