Right then, after much deliberation (and procrastination) I've finally finished the artwork for the following, the idea for which I've had for ages but which I've struggled to find time to draw. I've had a few messages about this one... sorry for the delay!

Tools are nice things and it's satisfying to have the right one for the job. Like most people on here, I have a toolbox filled with all sorts of stuff, from generic household tools (of various quality) to expensive (and rarely used) bicycle-specific contraptions to all manner of absolute crap (that I can't quite bring myself to throw away). However, while we pour over the exact aesthetic choices concerning the bikes themselves, we rarely dwell on the supporting cast, some of whom are quite beautiful or at least interesting in their own right. This T-shirt is just such a tribute and is available in four colours...

    Grey:

    Moss:

    Ecru:

    Navy:

The design has so far been drawn by hand and scanned, and will be screen-printed to a high standard using ecologically sound water-based ink on equally high quality 155g 100% organic cotton T-shirts. Navy blue ink will be used on the lighter colours and ecru (off-white, basically) ink will be used on the darker colours, as shown. More information on the shirts themselves can be found here and an independent review (which I think features a moss green shirt as above) can be seen here. For those interested, my previous two efforts are here and here (reprints of both of these in different colours coming soon - watch this space). These were both really well received and it was a lot of fun, so thanks to all those who bought them or even took an interest.

    PRICE / DELIVERY

The T-Shirts are all £17 each, including postage. £1 from each shirt sold will be donated to the forum. Yes, they've gone up in price by £3 since my last two runs and there are three main reasons for this: the costs involved have risen noticeably in the last two years since the last ones, the forum donation has increased (which is only fair, I think) and I've adjusted the postage/packaging to reflect what it will actually cost me to send them (last time I underestimated it and got stung).

The idea is to pass on only the bare minimum in costs to keep them affordable; unfortunately I don't have the economies of scale of mass-production and I want to get the quality right most of all. The price is a flat rate as I don't really want to get into delivering them or meeting up with dozens of people. They'll be posted first class in a recyclable jiffy bag about a month after the final orders are taken (I'll be posting progress updates in this thread). While the price includes postage, if you buy two I'll obviously only charge postage once:

    1 x T-shirt = £17
    2 x T-shirts = £32
    3 x T-shirts = £47
    4 x T-shirts = £62

Please note that shipping abroad is fine but will add to the cost a bit. I'll work this out according to the destination and order, so please PM me for details. Any additional expense will be charged at cost.

    SIZES

The T-shirts are basically true-to-size, so for instance a medium is a standard medium. However, here are some measurements for those unsure (measured across the chest from underarm to underarm):

    Men:

    Small - chest size 50cm / 20"
    Medium - chest size 53cm / 21"
    Large - chest size 56cm / 22"
    Extra Large - chest size 60cm / 24"

    Women:

Also available will be a women's equivalent, in 145g organic cotton. It's smaller overall, obviously, but has a reasonably classic, loose fit (like this). Please note that these are available in Navy only. Please make sure to state in your order that you want the womens version!

    Extra Small - chest size 42cm / 17"
    Small - chest size 45cm / 18"
    Medium - chest size 47cm / 19"
    Large - chest size 50cm / 20"
    Extra Large - chest size 52cm / 21"

    ORDERING / PAYING

Because there are multiple colours and sizes, rather than a typical run in one colour, I need to take payment upfront before giving the printers the go-ahead. Naturally if anything goes wrong and it falls through I'll refund your money in full. Please add your name to the list (that I'm hoping will form) stating the following:

FORUM NAME / COLOUR / SIZE (say if you want the women's version!)

Payment is by Paypal only please. After you've added yourself to the list please then PM me your order (forum name / colour / size) and full name and address and I'll reply asap with my Paypal account details. I'll reiterate it in my reply, but please attach a note of who you are to your Paypal payment so i know who to cross of the list.

I'll take orders up until Wednesday the 26th October, at which point I'll tally up and get the order off! As I mentioned above, they'll hopefully be ready to be distributed in about a month from then. Thanks very much indeed. I'll keep this thread updated with, err, updates.

    16.10.2011 - T-shirt samples

The blank sample T-shirts arrived the other day and are really very nice. The navy is just right (some navys can be a bit odd), the green is amazing (possibly my favourite) and the ecru is ace too (this is a creamy off-white colour, but fresh and not at all insipid). They didn't have a grey to hand but that'll be along soon. I've yet to try one on to check the sizing but they have a great feel. I'll get some photos done in daylight and post them up at the weekend.

Final prints in navy and moss:

  • Dear all,

I'll be a bit tied up until this evening but will respond to your PMs fully then.

This was a lot easier to keep on top of when I was a layabout student!

    Cheers.
