Since your picture is from this site: http://www.yesterdays.nl/1924-stayer-1093-p-1095.html
... you've propably already heard of it.
Maybe send them an email if they have something similar. You could also try to contact velodromes in Germany (stayer sport still quite active) if they have any old machines they don't need anymore.
Is the bike collector collecting stayer bikes?

Hei! Thanks for the reply, I've just contacted the guys of yesterdays.nl, let see if they still have some motorbike left. I'll try to contact german velodromes, thanks for the advice!
P.S. yes the collector has some stayer bikes, do you want one? :)

I don't know if the are stayer motorcycles for sale.
But if so, they belong to pacemakers and you have to contact them directly. There are just a few.
And probably you have to do a lot of work to make them ridable and reliable (the bikes, the pacemakers never will). -

Tel is right, I am a motorbike collector, british Triumphs in particular!Triumph Bonnevilles were used around 1980 on the dutch velodromes, but I have never seen one for sale. Before that BSA twins were commonly used.
Nowadays it's mainly Puch Maxi engined contraptions ...
I would search the MCN classifieds, buy a basket case british twin and build my own stayer bike!
The pictured Anzani-engined machine won't be cheap! -

I think it would be nice if any remaining Steher motorbikes are kept for the purpose they were built, either to be restored for use in pacing...or used as spares to restore others....just my thoughts....is this what your collector had in mind?
The ones used in the UK and still used occasionally at Herne Hill are Triumph Daytonas, modified for the worlds in Leicester in the 80s I believe.

there was big rumpus about getting insurance for them a while back - I don't know what the outcome was to get the bikes to be ridden at the HH Easter meeting a couple of years back- again Graham Bristow is a key contact
Derny's are covered by British Cycling insurance when ridden by qualified drivers.
Reading has a couple of canibalised older Derny's in their Container that could be made to run again, if tinkering is up your street. I did drive one before its chain unshipped and never went right again, and it was much better than the Simon ones.

I love vintage bikes and these early Stayer bikers are incredible as a homage I created this T Shirt. Sorry blatant advertising but these bikes need remembering.

Great pics and info here...
Hello! Does anyone know where I can find a stayer motorcycle? Stuff like this http://thersic.com/wordpress/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/1924-MAG-Stayer-1.jpg
I know it's going to be really hard and expensive but it's for an old bike collector. Thanks in advance.
