  • So far I've had the pleasure of trying Chips in Victoria Park Village, Falkners on Kingsland Rd, Olley's in Herne Hill and that place in greenwich.

Any other recommendation? willing to travel up to 15 miles.

  • Sea Shell of Lisson Grove

  • If you ever find yourself out east, or maybe even as a finisher to a Southend run, try the Golden Fish in Dagenham/Becontree Heath (forget the exact address, but its on the junction of Wood Lane and Becontree Avenue). S'awesome.

  • The Ashvale in Aberdeen. Oh sorry I thought you said 715 miles ;)

  • skip the gentrified eatery bollocks

    lea bridge road, captains table.

  • Geales in Notting Hill is great but full of tossers as well as being bowel-shatteringly expensive.

The Sea Cow on Lordship Lane in East Dulwich - excellent variety of fish and nice beers too.

There's one on Turnham Green Terrace in Chiswick that's quite good too.

Also, the one that's been used a few times in the "Fish Fridays" thread on Poland Street at the Oxford Street end of proceedings.

  • In sunny HH skip the overpriced Ollys and head for Kens on Half Moon lane. Perfect for post velodrome action.

  • agreed

  • Nautilus west hampstead/fortune green (take away or eat in)

  • If you find yourself in and around Clapham - be sure not to miss The Fish Club.
Everything is fresh, you select your own fish, the tartar sauce is divine.

Also, Evans, Apex Cycles and Infinity Motorcycles have your two-wheeled window-shopping covered within walking distance.

  • Holborn. Best in town. Still use beef dripping to fry in.

  • Its between Toffs and The Fryers Delight

  • There's no place for the upper-classes in fish and chips.

  • There's also a good one in Coventry Garden around the corner from Keith Richards' jewellers, off Shorts Gardens.

    ^This.

  • The Britannia on Grove road (south of Victoria park, opposite the Victoria pub) is pretty good.

  • Everything about this place looks like a winner! Svnlto - this is next up in the quest...

  • Roman Road

  • kennedy's of goswell road, walkable for you in your lunch break ;)

  • didn't know about TS's Holborn offering up there. I would have destroyed that back in my Somerset House days. Found Rock and Sole Plaice or whatever it's called in SOho to be overpriced and disappointing.

  • The sea cow is the one, flying fish in Camberwell ain't bad either.

  • I propose the Fat Bastard Fried Run.

100 laps of HH to burn enough calories then Kens in HH onto the Seashell in Maryleborne, couple of laps of the outer circle of Regents park, cross town and a quick stop off at the Fryers Delight in Holborn, a hard burn up to Toffs of Muswell Hill, easy run down to the Fish House beside Viccy park then back down South to the Sea Cow in East Dulwich (South Peckham) then back to HH for another 50 laps then the final reward of Ollys.

    Sounds Easy.
