Birmingham City Centre Freebies

  • Very rarely do I get chance to ride through town in the day but yesterday the courier company ran out of drivers so instead of getting changed into shirt and tie and sitting on my arse for eight hours I had to do a bit of city centre cycling. This sucked because I'd had no breakfast and I could feel my legs shaking through lack of fuel. Luckily, on my way through town there were a couple Frijj employees giving out disgustingly oversweetened Sticky Toffee Pudding and Raspberry Jam milkshakes on New Street. I'm not a big fan of milk, especially not if it's so sickly sweet it puts normal people in a diabetic coma and so artificially thickened it almost refuses to come out of the bottle, but god damn it makes an excellent emergency breakfast replacement. I tried to post something here for anyone who might happen to be going to town to grab a bottle but my mobile internet wouldn't work.

Anyway... let's start some sorta Brum freebie bulletin thread... any free shit being given out, post it here...

  • Good idea.

I once rang up about a bike advertised online. The bloke who answered said it had already sold but was quick to direct me to this site. It's really badly laid out but whoever runs it seems to find some decent freebies and deals in the city. Might be worth checking once in a while

  • I always bump into the guy that runs this site, he keeps repeating till you'll agree to look at it

  • Not so much a freebie but useful nonetheless - Stainless Steel brake cables in Wilkinson's (Acock's green) for 97p each. Good find but annoying as I paid £4 for one last week from a bike shop

  • Wilko used to do Weldtite puncture repair kits for 79p as well... usually £2 in bike shops

  • Tesco have basic puncture kits for 50p last time I went. (standard price, not discounted).

  • I recently bought a camera from Jessops and it came with 'first prints free'. Option of either 300 6x4 or 150 7x5 prints. Although I have some, I have nowhere near that many good photos that I'd like to print. So if anyone would like to get in on some free photo printing let me know.

It would usually be £27 for 150 7x5 prints from Jessops.

I have to order them on the 'in-store' kiosks all at one time by the 18th October. Put your name below if you want some and then I'll PM you and we can email the files over.

We can work out how many each if there's some interest.
