Nice one seb. Seems mad that there's no simplified routemap, would be really good for new cyclists if mapping routes was encouraged.

I think its great, if you look at the maps they seem complicated but if you imagine taking a journey you'll just need to follow one route maybe two. Seems better than CSHs

great idea, not sure how practical it is, in its present state looking at the central london map..
this needs to have a digital version with more info to hand, bike routes not something i've pay much attention to, i tend to vary my commutes and trips across town to avoid the crowds and finding back roads tbh..
good effort though

I've looked at the PDFs but I cannot see the point of the maps.
Even with signs, how can you have a map which doesn't show the actual roads you need to go down?
Simplified maps only work if someone else is doing the navigating, as on public transport. -

could this be implemented as routes for gps devices until there is proper signage?
you could have the map and pick a route number and then just follow an arrow on screen. -

Simplified maps only work if someone else is doing the navigating, as on public transport.the idea is that there would be clearly visible signs along the route so you know
you are following it. -

ideally the bike paths would be in the route colour.

You'd have to find the route first to follow it :-)
I'm ok with a proper map cos I can relate it to roads, but next to useless with abstract ones. Another bloody dyspraxia symptom I expect.

There're NOT boris's bikes!!!

The map looks pretty confusing to me and it appears to follow some of the roads I usually make a point of avoiding (although it's hard to say for sure as there are no street names). It looks like one of the routes goes along Oxford St, which I'd never usually cycle down as there are much nicer, quieter back routes...

Great idea!
This seems like a really great idea and something that LFGSS could spread the word about.
