I would be all over this like a rash but I'm away on the 2nd...don't suppose there would be any chance of the above happening, but with more of a FG focus i.e instead of gears, teaching about chain tension, how to use a chain whip, changing a cog etc?

Poots, I reckon that if I had enough fixed girls interested, I could add that as a section to the day. If the second is sucessful I'll be running them once a month.

Can I also please put in a bid for the future for sessions for those who have done classes (beg/int) to practice? Not fixed too? Thanks

Yep, I'll keep you all posted. Tbh, running it again depends on getting enough people for this one, so get the word out!

So I tweeted LMNH today about doing a fixed/SS maintenance thing today and they said if I could get 7 people (including me) to commit, then they'd run it...Is this some business/work that could come your way Nhatt?
Who would be interested, provisionally? LIST!

This is a brilliant idea! Can't do the 2nd though, or anytime soon as my cash flow is not great (got a huge business expense coming up).
Hope you get enough support to make this a regular thing.

Nhatt...is this something you'd be able to run/make some lolly from if we could get enough people?

Hey guys,
I just had a chat with Sam and Lew today, and it's official. I'll be running my first class on the 30th. If you would like this to be geared (see what I did there) towards fixed gears, then I am happy to do that.Classes with be £70 with a tool kit, tea and coffee provided. I'm also road testing (I'm on fire tonight!) some comics on how to fix your bike, so you'll get a copy of this as well. You'll need to paypal me a £20 deposit to secure your place, you can email me at nhattattack@gmail.com

30th October? If so, I'm in. Nice one Nhatt!

Yep, October 30th.

Coolio. I don't have a paypal account...could I just furnish you with lolly at some point, seeing as how we're sorta neighbours?

Sounds a plan> I'm sorting out a postcard for this at the moment, should be able to post an image soon

Ace. We'll sort something out via the power of PM, eh?

sounds good. It also look like I've got the amount wrong on this poorly designed flyer, it should say £70, not £80 but as this was my first try at photoshop I think I'll probably have another go at it anyways when I'm not so shattered.
EDIT
Yep, going to have to try again with it later. Defintily not a graphic designer. -

30th Oct is good for me. would prefer fixed/SS though would still come if it were geared as i'll be buying one soon..

Ok, it looks like there is enough interest to run a fixed class! As I can only take six, please get an email to me fairly quickly.

Hurrah!
Starting on October 2nd I will be teaching at LMNH's new downstairs workshop space.
The classes are for women only and will cover how to fix punctures, set up brakes and change pads, and how to adjust gears (ironic in a fg forum, i know).
It's £70 for a full day including tea, coffee, and small tool kit. I'll also have some copies of my prototype comic on bike fixing to hand out as well.
If Sundays aren't possible for you, then my opposite number Digger is teaching a class for everyone on the Saturday before.
I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to this.
