Police say NOT FATAL
-
• #3
lets not have rider down threads until there's actual confirmation there is one ya?

Loads of rumours on this one. Nothing confirmed except there are armed police and police dogs on the scene. Make of it what you will.

There was no downed cyclist when they blocked the road off. There was no traffic within 100 metres in any direction of the junction and a large number of cars & officers.
At this point I would assume that the Twitter reports are rumour and nothing more.

Twitter says male jogger. Either way, wtf is this thread here for?

i just a look at yer twitter - despite no substantiation, there's still a depressing amount of people on there giving it the 'well these bloody cyclists will cycle on roads and stuff, innit'
cockends

Well according to thisislocallondon there was an accident of some sort at the junction earlier, so who knows?

When I rode through about 8am they were holding a brompton rider who was shouting alot, 2 ambulances so someone was injured - couldn't see anymore as a van was trying to ram me off the road.

The junction of choice for unaware hipsters to wipe themselves out on. A nice little slope leading to the old river bed, got to gather speed to get up the other bank, jump the red light regardless of there being a right hand filter light and bang!

When I went pass around 8.20 someone was being rolled into an ambulance on a stretcher. I could see one police officer holding a white conversion that looked ok - not mangled up or anything. Whatever happened I hope the person in the ambulance is ok.

Couldn't see exactly what was going on when I came through at around 8 because of the huge number of cops and their cars all over the place. Definitely looked more like a pedestrian than a cyclist on the ground though.
Either way hope they're OK. -

People can be amazingly brave and virile on Twitter.
But in real life....?

Saw someone on a stretcher - it looked serious, but not being worked on. Lots of police at the scene, some were talking to some rather animated civilians.
Drive-by?

There was a big luton van being toed when I went past at about 1pm the part of the road that goes up over the trainline was still closed. Any obvious signs of collision had been cleared up.
All over twitter at the moment. Anyone able to confirm/have any more info? Fingers crossed for the cyclist if it's true...
