just to let you all know, you can find good Intuos 3 s/h on t'bay, for about half the price of a new Intuos 4. Got mine for about £120 I think, nice widescreen a4, think I'll need a new pen though. Seems the tablet pens get worn nibs like fountain pens..
-
• #11
You can just buy the nips corny.
The new bamboo's look ok also. I think the medium isn't a bad size?
EDIT, actually the 'active area' is 217 x 137 mm

I find the Intuos 4 has a much nicer feel than the intuos 3 - I use a medium Intuos 4 for graphics (mainly photoshop web layouts and illustrator) and prefer it to the L size on a 27" monitor, which is more like painting on a massive canvas (although good for retouching work) much more portable aswell...

Wicksie, was going to get the bamboo as a portable, for when I'm editing away from base...
will look into new nibs...
-
• #15
Yeah might be a tad small.
There's a couple of i 3's on the bay which I might bid on. Should we use this to inform so we don't gazump each other?
Sorry to trash your thread BDW! -
• #16
breaths in through teeth like car mechanic
There's one on the 'bay for £100 at the mo with 22 hours left. Mine isn't boxed though, and has no 4d mouse (just the tablet and a pen). Is £70 fair? Willing to negotiate.

Wicksie, the shortcuts in the menu strip along the top of the tablet are programmable. Is that what you mean?
