You know Paddington is just north of Hyde Park right? Basically central London..

Well yes, of course I know that, I cycled there! But with talk of 'boundaries' and the ride starting east I thought I'd check.

The plan is deliberately vague- we meet up at the first tag (Dalston) at 7pm and, depending on who's there and which tags they fancy visiting, off we go! Then we can share the navigating too, as we take it in turns to lead to the next tag. I think we should start heading to further out spots and sort of sprial inwards, and we can keep going for as long as people want to! This is mainly based on neither KT Bee or me having the time to put together a fully devised, recced, risk-assessed and GPS-registered route that will please everyone! Although we will come armed with maps (the tag-map and the big TFL cycle maps that cover the whole city, for navigational purposes).
Skydancer made a good point that we need a decent camera that'll do good night shots, as quite a few of the tags have been great nighttime views (I'm thinking of the fairly recent silhouette of a bike on a hilltop with city lights behind)- but I for one would quite like it if this were a ride, ie covering a decent amount of miles and not too slow- scope for a pint included of course. Maybe at the start?
So get thinking about which tags you'd really like to visit/ revisit. I might maybe bake some ginger biscuits as I owe several people quantities of baked goods.

Let's get some suggestions for tags, first, see what happens. That way we are at least slightly prepared and we don't waste time on the day.
I'll start the ball rolling.. (bearing in mind it'll probably be dark)

.Yes - all a bit free-form I'm afraid!
Nick (Oat44) took the night-time shot on Primrose Hill and said he would be keen to do this, so could be night-time camera-man.

Yes - I was worrying about the potential for pre-ride faff. We can compile what people post here and refine / add to / tweak on the night. Maybe over a pre-ride pint?

Depends if we want to meet up by tag #1 (Dalston) or meet somewhere more central I reckon- either is fine by me, does anyone have any really strong feelings either way? KTB?

Definitely need more tags! Maybe ones that are en route to the ones already suggested?

yay, my tag is there so I might come along for this!

Any suggestions for a pre-ride pub for a quick pint and joint-the-dots session with a very big map?
I did a (fairly unremarkable) tag on Doughty Mews, which happens to be next to a very lovely pub in a central location. I am, secretly, tempted by joining you lot for this ride. Hmm.
Oh. hang on. has it happened?
My mistake. obviously not. blah. -

Don't worry my dear, we will visit lots of tags, plan a route before we begin, depending on who's there and where they want to go. We've got maps a-plenty- the tag-map and big London road maps. If there are any you want to add to the mix, get involved!
I hereby propose the Prince George as the start- just round the corner from tag #1, lovely pub, lot of railings outside for bike-locking.
(Get me doing links in text. V technological!)
And 6pt, you are the *last *person who should be suggesting a start point closer to where you live!
So at the Taggy Cat Katie-Coo suggested a tag-based ride and .. after 3 minutes of planning ... here it is - the Bicycle Tag of Bike Ride of Ride.
The plan (revised to include pre ride planning in the pub):
Wednesday 28 September, meet from 6.30ish at the Prince George here. Aim to start riding at 7.30pm - first stop - the the very first tag Red Cross, Dalston Lane, No. 1 on the map
We're keeping it simple: think of an existing tag you want to re-visit (ie not a new tag) - that you definitely know where it is- and not too far-flung, we'll put them all on a map, join them up and ride them. The more people, the better the ride.
