2011-09-07 - Rider Down, Mile End Road

This comes second hand from my boss, so excuse the lack of details.
Male rider down on mile end road, just by the tube station heading east.
Sounds like he was pretty battered about, maybe broken arm and lots of road rash, but moving and talking, if a bit concussed.

It all happened behind my bosses back but he turned when he heard it. seems the guy was riding in front of a double decker, when somebody overtook and then cut in, hitting taking out the cyclist, then racing off.
luckily the bus managed to stop or it could have been much worse.

shit. I wish that sounded out the ordinary but I've nearly been hit by twats doing just that so many times on that road. Hope the riders not too hurt.

A well known road for speeding modified Corsas and Clios.

busses CCTV should sort that right out....2week driving ban and a blow job for the perp.

a friend of mine was badly injured (broken collar bone etc) in the same location about six months ago.

a driver pulled out of a side road right in front of him. he went over the bonnet.

driver sped off. more hit and run / illegal driver etc.

i hope the rider who was hit today is ok.

i notice they have taken down most of the railings at this junction.

It happened many times to me in the same spot. Also in the direction of Stepney.
Luckily I've always managed to skid sideways to avoid the car and slot in behind it.

Heal up chap. Hope they catch the driver / coward.
