Sorry, did not mean to be rude, I am so old that cable brakes were an innovation in my time... Westwood rims used 'pull-up' rod-operated brakes, so the braking surfaces are not on the sides of the rim but on the inner circumference.

Westwood rims with flat sides for modern(!) caliper brakes are usually referred to as Westrick (combination of Westwood and Endrick).. FYI.

SOLD SOLD SOLD BUT MY PEUGEOT TANDEM HAS been STOLEN in Islington, please see: http://www.lfgss.com/thread123-140.html#post2436685 for details
SOLD SOLD SOLD
I have found myself with two tandems, probably one more than even the most active Lothario requires.
So, the Claud Butler ladyback tandem is for sale:
21 1/2 inch front
21 inch rear
Blue metallic, lugs picked out in white paint, quite faded and some surface rust but generally very good
No tubing identity decals/labels, so probably not 531 or 501, also no model designation stickers/decals
Clip-on pump pegs on bottom horizontal tube
Dynamo bracket on front forks
26 X 1 3/8 inch wheels, Westwood rims with side braking area on them, rust spots (more on front than rear) but still very usable and not too scruffy
Atom rear hub, unknown steel front, good bearings, both bolt-up
Very good tyres
Good plastic silver front mudguard with black strip and mudflap at base, no rear mudguard
Weinmann centre pull brakes with new KoolStop pads, plain Weinmann-type alloy granny levers, black ribbed cables, all oiled through and working smoothly
Handlebars are plain steel, flattish at front, Western raised three inches at rear
Atom original rear hub brake, just adjusted and cleaned, works well
GEARS
Near new five-speed Shimano block with pretty low first gear - do any hills
Shimano Titlist rear alloy mech, works well, downtube shifter
NO FRONT MECH or multi rings
Near new front and rear chains, spring loaded jockey wheel for front chain tension
Cottered steel chrome cranksets, good chrome and condition
Both bottom brackets stripped, cleaned and greased, with caged ball bearings in good condition
Foam saddles, front OK, rear broken on one side, still usable
£135 or near offer, collect from Holloway/Islington, ride it home!
