This is a stupid question. It's always been against the rules and should always be. You can't change a game. You can't suddenly allow people to score with their hands in football just because of how the ball got in front of the goal was skillful.

For me, if you've made a break, say from the good pass, and are through on goal, with no defenders or goalie, it shouldn't matter how you get the ball into the goal, that's not the skillful part of that action.
I've seen 'nuff people with nobody in their way and still miss a goal - myself included.

Well, you can, though in this case this isn't about changing the rules, I'm just interested.
But no shuffles is like saying no toe-punts in football, to me it just doesn't make much sense.

no way! its way harder to hit the ball properly and accurately with the end of your mallet than with a shuffle. its a completely different action and means that you cant just dribble it into goal. people miss when its an open goal cause they have to change their mallet from a shuffling action to a shooting one. That requires skill. Continuing your shuffle into the goal is too easy.
for a laugh like in BFF, ok, but not normally

IMO, goals should only be allowed off the business end...no debate...end of poll!

I can;t think of one good reason why you'd be where it says you are on GL, Bill.

We shall make this our motto, my friends.

Because I'm working? Some people have to work.

We shall make this our motto, my friends.
And we'll create a rule that disallows goals scored off the broadside of mallets.

Your work isn't there.

I agree, shuffling it would make that situation easier
But my question is, does making that situation artificially harder add anything to the game?
Surely without the rule it would add greater skill to the game, in terms that the defence would have to be more aware of not letting people through on goal?

Depends on how you look at it. Windmill Street is in the London Borough of Camden. It is also in the area known, historically, as Fitzrovia, which is part of the West End.

Yes, that is what I thought (knew). But latitude said borough of Camden. Now I remember that's what this whole area is. Including Russel square and Bloomsbury, incidentally.
So, the old shuffle goal debate has started again, and I'm just interested in whether people think they should be allowed or not.
Ideally i'd like to hear your reasons too.
This isn't going to affect anything, it's just for my own curiosity.
My personal opinion is, that if I was writing the rule book now, I would allow them.
Personally I don't really see what no shuffles achieves, I've seen would be very skillful goals disallowed because they were scored with the wrong part of the mallet, but there are plenty of shit tap ins with the business end.
I realise it's tradition, but so is 3-2-1-Polo, that's being phased out as well, I'd like better reasons than that for not allowing shuffles.
I guess the one good reason I've heard is that it would be much easier to push the ball into goal, through the goalies mallet, but how often would that really happen?
For me, if you've made a break, say from the good pass, and are through on goal, with no defenders or goalie, it shouldn't matter how you get the ball into the goal, that's not the skillful part of that action.
