  • Hi all.
So here is what I got for sale ATM.

    1. Charge Duster Frame - Medium
Brand new charge duster frame, head set phased and Brand new FSA orbit head fitted, realized its not what I need, only head set has been fitted, nothing else. I still have the recipt if you want it. Selling for 180 pounds

    2.Scott CR1 comp complete
so, this does have a history. Originaly the frame was my brother, he had it for 3 months before he realized that the peice below the on front mech had cracked, warrantied, now he has his new bike. so, we kept the original, only till recent I had it sent off to a Carbon repair company, it just got two weeks ago, the frame now is fine, its slight noticialbe cosmeticlly, but its silent, stiff and doesnt make any noise if you apply pressure, i had my mechanic check it out, what they did was fill it around, making it all good. The only other problem, is that there is a scratch on the top tube; cosmetic. Reason for selling - too big.

so everything on the bike is brand new.. heres the list

    CR1 frame 56cm
    Cr1 fork - carbon steerer
    Ritchy carbon seat post

  • PM'd Re: Carbon Road bike!

  • You can't fix carbon mate, if its cracked its just stupid to ride it again, to whoever buys it, good luck to you your crazy. When it shatters suddenly on a 50kmh descent you'll regret it ;)

  • Pretty sure you can fix it, otherwise there wouldn't be carbon repair companies, and people wouldn't be having their carbon frames/wheels fixed...whether it's as stiff as originally, who knows.

  • Carbon can be fixed. Because its made by layering they take back the carbon a bit and layer some more on top to fix the frame. You can do it to wheels as well.

  • Fell through, so its still avaiable

    Nuff bollocks

  • It is "nuff bollocks" if he can only descend at 50kmh! Even I can do more than that.

  • Its still stiff, nice climbing, and usaly, if there is a problem with the bike, it will creak, the only noise is from my heaving breathing. willing to split
    Frame + fork headset = 150
    Parts 450

  • Dibs the carbon frame pending inspection...

  • when would you like to inspect it?

  • Monday?

  • bollocks, i'd have second on f+f pending trying it out for size/ inspection.

  • Monday a bit of an issue, any time sooner?

  • duster still avaiable, cr1 still pending

  • 2nd dibs on the cr1 please !

  • How comes your selling the duster?? Its an amazing bike!

  • Ah, i want a 29er.. wasted=/

  • cr1 still up!

  • Dibs on the handlebars and stem if you are splitting it Chris

  • ok, but i want to try sell complete or do F+F / all the rest.

Both still up! Throw reasonable bids in! XD

  • in the grand scale of carbon frame damage in this case its actually paltry- centre of the tube/away from the bottom bracket/obvious damage from the front mech. Repair=Simples

    If in doubt http://www.carboncyclerepairs.co.uk/racing-bike-repairs_2.html

There were lots of pics at the Bike Show last year on how they looked before and after.

I guess you may always doubt the repair, but do you hear of frames breaking after repair? I've not

Carbon repairs are common place in motor racing- cars and bikes, and boating etc etc etc

I've seen and heard of quite few Alu frames cracking without any impact over the years, and suffered it myself, but not with carbon.

  • That was the company in which i had the repair for the CR1

  • Both still up,and in need of money =/

  • Wednesday evening both items are going on the bay =/
