Hub with solid flange vrs hub with cutouts

  • Just picked up a nos Ofmega rear track hub, campy copy. Ive a nos suntour front hub, both are matching cosmetically and of equal quality, they have 75mm flanges with 6 cutouts per side. My question is am I better off with goldtec hubs(my other choice as I was gonna sell these) because of the solid flanges and thicker axles? Im a heavy guy, would stiffness be effected or is it negligble?
I have a pair of 36h h+son tb14 so rims will be very stiff anyway.
Im not sure if goldtec is forged or just cnc'd from a block, the suntour is forged and prob very strong as its Japanese, the Ofemga hub shell was made by Olympic(?) of Spain I believe.

the wheels are for racing and Im a sprinter

  • i have old dura ace with cutouts, they are fantastic. ride solid. i'd say negligible.
