Anyone else with any more? Specifically the markings on a Bauer track bike bottom bracket? Trying to identify a frame I may buy...
Thanks. -

What's the number?
-

Don't have a number... paints too thick... but I can make out a shape which I assume is text... if that makes any sense.
If someone has a pic of a BB shell that would be great... -

a bauer track frame ... or the bauer track frame bb shell?
-
• #13
Just a pic of the shell atm... and lugs...
-

Here... I see a slight arch in the type, and the lugs match up to a 30's Bauer...

Let me see,
the first picture shows a typical early Bauer track bike including a well known German collector.
Watch his flickr account (his new website is unfortunately under construction) to see some more Bauer road and track bikes:

The second pic shows the typical "50 years Bauer" metal head badge which celebrates the 50th birthday of the Bauer company. Helps you to separate pre and post 1961 Bauer bikes.
In 1952, Heinz Müller went world champion on a Bauer bike, since then, the frames had a decal on the top tube saying: "Modell des Weltmeisters(1952)"
Bauer used to produce and use own lugs for their frames, but used Nervex Professional lugs on high end frames, probably the easiest way to sort out the quality.
