got any pictures to explain?
if the whole clamp is buggered then yes, its more cost affective to buy a new post, as trying to 'unbond' then rebond a new clamp into a carbon post just sounds like trouble to me.
If its just the bolt, get a bigger/more hardcore drill bit and put it in a decent pillar drill, not a hand drill (probably the reason you managed to snap it?). -

Spot on. It was a hand drill and my shakey hands that buggered it. I wouldn't have messed it up with a pillar drill but the girlfriend won't let me install one in the sitting room of our 1 bed flat. No circular saw on the kitchen table either : (
The part of the clamp bonded to the seatpost is fine, as is the ridged part that fits into it. It is just the top clamp and bolt that need replacing. Do you think i'll find a similar clamp on another seatpost?

probably yes, with cheapo posts a lot of them are practically identical, with yours, you may have some difficulty, BUT best chance is to head to the largest bike shop in your area with the busted bit removed, and rummage in the scrap box until you find what you need. Might take a few visits/shops but you'll find something.
Same with bolts, you'll find something in there.BTW, pillar drill > girlfriend
or maybe thats where I keep going wrong :S
The seatpost bolt on my Isaac carbon seatpost has broken off inside the top clamp. I thought the easiest fix was to drill out the bolt and get a new bolt, but used an old shoddy drill bit and managed to break the drill bit off inside the top clamp! So i'm now after a new bolt and top clamp. I've tried 5 bike shops so far and they all say they can't replace the clamp, they can only sell a new seatpost. Seems like a total waste to get a new seatpost when all i need is the clamp. The clamp looks almost identical to the clamo on my Condor seatpost so that is my next point of call. Does anyone have any other bright ideas if that fails?
