This is £10 above your budget but they have excellent levels of padding: http://www.rapha.cc/pro-team-mitts

Thanks - I'll look into those all the same.

These are better, but have longevity issues (the mesh covering the gel pads is a bit flaky). And they are not as readily available as I'd like.
Still did not stop me from buying them when I see them.

I think cuddles knows which are better.

They look really good actually, those Izumis.

I use these & love them - I've not had a problem with them being flaky though. Just what are you doing to them?
Riding.

You could try washing them every few weeks or so, FFS.
-

Thin padding, FTW.

I have 2 pairs, and rotate every week or so. Otherwise they smell like unclean hamster cages.
I think my superDeathGrip® may be the issue where the mesh is concerned.
The thickness of the padding and placement was the issue I had with the Spesh BG gloves mentioned above.
Are gloves like saddles?

Gloves are not like saddles.

I don't wash my saddle. I don't wash my gloves.
Gloves are like saddles in this sense.

I dont wash my padded shorts, why would i wash my padded gloves?

Gloves are like shorts?

I wouldn't want to put my hands in Balki's gloves.

or his shorts, FHL.

I wash my gloves and helmet pads every week. The Gore gloves just always stink. I think it's the fabric they're made of.
I might just get some Keirin gloves for laffs

Yes, they are made of gore.

Which made me think of this ...

Spesh BG work fine for me - when I remember to put them on, but they're not super-padded.

I got some Trek ones in an LBS £1 bin for, um, £1 actually. they have a gel stuff under a pad of suede, made out of better stuff than £30-£40 661 & azonic gloves, lasted years of abuse. No idea what they are called though :s
I'm after something to replace my Gore gloves which are ok, but the padding is thin, they stink and the quality is below-par for what I paid.
Looking for something around £20 with plenty of cushioning.
