Winning an auction on eBay is legally binding, you might want to remind the seller of that, as well as neg rep their ass. Not suggesting you act on it, but you could theoretically take them to court for breach of contract. Last time this happened to me I got hold of the seller's phone number and called them to point this out, that was a phone call they weren't expecting...

This sounds like a job for Max Kwon Do.

Ha really? I've had a little dig on his for sale thread on Pinkbike. I guess there's not much I can do if he's already sold the bike. He was apologetic and then told me it was a low blow to give him negative feedback.
I'm still scowling. -

I'm still scowling. What a massive cock, I'd nerg him for having the nerve to say this... wac.

I'm still scowling.Email eBay and explain the psychological trauma that this has caused. Then neg rep him. Did his sale explain that it was advertised elsewhere and could potentially be sold? If not then go for the low blow...

Sounds like a tosser. Definitely neg him - I trade on ebay and make most of my disposable income out of it, and I would never dream of treating another ebayer like that.

Turns out he is 16.

No excuse. He was trying to be nice, said he didn't have internet access to cancel the auction and that he'll help me work out the fees (auctionsniper).
That's the problem when you allow stuff to be advertised in several places.Auctionsniper refund fees if no transaction has happened and you neg them, so I did.
I am disappoint.
There's a better bike but it's in Lincoln and no posting.
Have looked at train tickets.meh.

Wicksie, get a ticket a week or 2 from now, travel on a weekday (if you can of course) to Newark Northgate, it is pretty close to lincoln. shouldn't be too much and not that far from london.

That's a good tip, thanks Malaysian. I'll see if I win the bid and take it from there.

I really shouldn't read threads like this... Unfortunately it is too far away for me to do you a favour, otherwise I would...
What I did do in the meantime is go on to eBay a bid on a bike :( - I have absolutely NO self control.

You could pay for a courier

Good call! ^
The little shit has relisted the bike. I realised yesterday that the sold price was way less than he wanted for it, which is probably why he said he's sold it.

I put in a best offer price of £1, just cause I'm bored at work and it might waste a bit of his time... pretty crap what he did.. I'll increase it by 10p next time.

I can't contact eBay to tell them what has happened. It's only drop down menu choices which don't cover my situation.
Shall I BIN and not pay?
