Thats great but having worked for HMRC I know that they'll ask YOU to prove its 20p per mile. So you'll need to be able to point to the relevant legislation that says this and not just this thread.

20p per mile for business trips, but not valid for commuting.
Does anyone know how HMRC work out their mileage rates? - I can't find anything on the linked site. It seems about half of it for cars is fuel, but I wonder what the other components/values are for the rest of the car rate, and how the bike rate is calculated?
I suppose it's wear and tear etc but I'm interested to know if there is a definitive explanation, it may help me suggest something for cyclists at my workplace.
