with only 18mm of difference you're not going to get a threaded headset
you could buy the forks then have a new steerer installed, threaded or threadless

I did a quick search, but i guess i was being impatient. Thanks though that's what i was expecting to hear - a shame really.
Ok so i've bought a bike with a 160mm headtube and want to know if some forks (fucking nice ones) i've been offered can work with this frame. The fork has a 178mm steerer and i have a shimano 600 headset which has a fairly low stack height, or could buy a lower one (tange passage seems to be 30.3mm), but will the headset have deep enough threads for this ?
Please help if you know as they're really nice forks but don't want to end up trying them and then selling them on.
