get a ruler out and measure the spacing between the track ends. should be 120mm or thereabouts.
if you have some vernier calipers, measure the seat tube and headtube as they are usually strange sizes.
wheels are pretty straight forward. once you have sorted your bottom bracket you can work towards what chainset you would be looking at.that the kind of information you are after?

yes. thank you!
I think the rear spacing is slightly less than 120mm on the french bike, but I already squeezed in a regular track wheel....
I allready have the crank sitting here. Does that tell what axle length I need for the BB? It is a SR Royal track crank by the way...
Thanks for the help

the headset is still perfectly smooth fortunately!
but the BB is a headache...
Hi,
I just bought a french track frame for my lady and it came without a bottom bracket! (I know I should have thought about that beforehand)
The righthand cup is still screwed in, so now I am pondering what else I need to get this baby on the road!?
Obviously a left-hand cup, but what else? And how do I determine axle length for a decent chainline?
Man this shit only happens when the clueless try to build up bikes...
Help much apprecited
