• Just cracked the rim on my rear wheel and need to sort out a replacement quite quickly. Was about to order one of these http://www.parker-international.co.uk/15755/Hand-Built-Rigida-Sputnik-Rear-Wheel.html
But before I do that I was wondering if anyone in London had anything similar they wanted to sell? Doesn't need to be perfect condition, but does need to be reasonably sturdy.
(also would like the rim to be silver, though that's not essential).

  • I have a Shimano R500 wheelset which I can split, although it is black and silver with black spokes, rather than silver, but you can have the wheel, tiagra 9 sp casette, tube and good tyre for £50. wheel is brand new.

  • Thanks, but I think I need something a bit tougher than an r500 + I've got casette, tyre, etc already.

  • Woollyhatshop do rigida chrina's on a Shimano hub for £47 deilvered BIN or if you want to wait 5 hours for £3 less http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/700c-Alloy-Q-R-ROAD-Bike-Rigida-Shimano-REAR-Wheel-/310329986059?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item48411bcc0b

  • Hey, I've got a pair of Alesa X-Plorer wheels, handbuilt 36h. Only done a few hundred miles. I'm in London next weekend for the DD and I'll see if I can blag my way onto the train with the spare wheel.

Sounds good - got any more info about them? Google's not giving me much...
