It's ridiculous because the only people who have access are fellow cyclists!
Grrrrr

Just because someone cycles it does not automatically make them trustworthy......... Sadly

I remember when lights weighed 4 kilos and couldnt be bought from tescos for 10p

Maybe it was this rather suspicious looking fellow:
In all seriousness now what kind of light was it, I only ask as some twat stole the braket from my bike and I had to buy another, if its one of these:
You are welcome to have my spare gratis!

it was one of these
Just ordered a new one from ebay.

If you can cancel it you can still have my spare, it should fit that bracket.

If it's a fellow cyclist, just hang about in the morning and see who is sporting a fancy new Cateye.
They can't be that smart.

someone nicked my front light the other day....maybe they made a set?? Fuckers.

there was someone selling decent saddles (Brooks, Flites etc all slightly used), seat posts and a mixed bag of front and rear lights on Ebay recently - nothing else. Can it get any more blatant? tossers.
I posted it in the stolen thread, someone also reported the seller. -

Is the bike shed only used by people you work with? I'd send an e-mail out asking whoever stole your light to kindly put it back on your bike. I might make them think again/feel guilty and would warn everyone else that there's a tea leaf in their midst.

Well it's used by the whole building of which there must be about 40 companies in, so tracking them down will be difficult.

The real question you should be asking is;
who leave their lights on their bicycle in a bike shed?

We get batteries nicked out of lights quite a lot in the bike park at work.
Cheap bastards.
-

that was actually the most annoying part of getting mine nicked...the light was only worth a few quid, but had just bought rechargeable batteries for it....whine.

A girl I used to work with had this happen in our office bike parking. She printed a big A3 sign sayng that if it wasn't returned within 24 hours, she'd be requesting the CCTV footage from security. Sure enough it was back on the bike the next day. The fact that there was no CCTV in the basement didnt seem to be an issue. She also finished the story with "and I have a boyfriend", which was a bit wierd.

+1 likely to be some other desk jockey in the same office, not the most intelligent crime.
Every time I go near a city I duck tape/electrical tape things like that, partly to make it look more ghetto but mostly to deter thieves. simple tool access is impended by layers and layers of the cheapest adhesive tape known to mankind, making thieving the item an almost gargantuan effort of finding the end of the tape, cutting, stuck fingers and annoyance. works so far.
To whoever stole my rear light from the bike shed at work, you are an idiot!
Why would you do this!
Made me angry today.
