Shimano brake cable "hook" unit ??

Posted on
  • I have a set of integrated brake/shift levers that I'd like to use, but the previous owner has lost the parts that hold the brake cable ends into the lever. I think it may be called a hook unit (SJS website) but am not sure. To explain, they are a small cylinder of metal with a nylon bush at each end and a hole through where the cable end pulls.

Can anyone please confirm the name of these little beasties and maybe where I can get them easily & cheaply.

    Many thanks for any info,
    Gren

  • It's actually in the lever system and the end of the inner cable goes through and it and the cable end pulls it.

Here is a link to what I've found, but I don't know if this is the correct name for the item.
    http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/shimano-st-7800-7700-cable-hook-unit-prod5342/

Then I want to find them at the best price.

    Thanks, Gren

  • I very much doubt you'll find them cheaper, if you do the difference will be negligible...
