• Offering Simon road frame by Mr. Arie Simon

Simon was a small builder from Zaandam, The Netherlands. After his road career he opened a shop and started building frames. His shop was located on the Oostzijde, the same street were there 1st Albert Heijn store (grosery chain, Ahold) was located.

Besides frames Mr. Arie Simon also built derny motorcycles for on the track. He established a great name in that. By many he is regarded the best derny manufacturer in the world.

This early 70s Simon frame is build using 531 butted tubing and comes with Campagnolo 1010 ends and dropouts. The lugs show many cutouts and there is pinstriping around headlugs, seatlug, BB shell and crown. There are no braze ons. Shifters and guides are all clamp on.

    Headset and bottom bracket included.

    Condition
For a concours winner it would fall short, but for riding this is a great frame. There are marks on paint here and there and there is some rust, in particular were the cable guide near BB sat clamped. There is nothing structural going on with this frame. Absolutely great for rider.

    Comes with

    • Stronglight headset
    • Sugino bottom bracket

  • Size?

  • And what's the size of Simon? How small was he exactly?

  • Size?

    Good Q!

    Seattube 60cm c-t
    Toptube 560mm

Post #1 updated with sizing information. Thx for the heads up.

  • whats the width of the back axle?

  • For this early 70s frame I would think it is 120mm, but I will check tomorrow. Normally, if it is 120mm, you should also be able to fit a 126mm wheel. It is steel and one step up is no concern.

  • nice. but its to tall

  • Dibs until this evening. I game sent you a message.

  • ...and the Simon found a new happy Simon ...uhm, owner.
