Ha, cheers plinth.
You were posting an SS for sale thread at the same time as I was posting a wanted. I'll hold out an see if there are any shinny ones for now. Looks nice with the chrome forks/seat stays.

Anyone? Could pick up any time over the weekend.

Final ask, has anyone got one?

if it's just the axle which has gone, presuming your hub takes standard loose bearings and not the sealed cartridge type, you could just replace it with a standard threaded axle.

yeah, did consider this. I lost a couple of bearings down the road when I pulled the bits of axle out, and felt it was a good moment to get rid of the whole wheel as it is an old rusty hefty thing. May go down this route if i find a threaded axle for cheap. Then again, if some one has a rear with tyre for £30-40, would be a good moment to put the money into that.
Looking for a rear wheel to put on my new build. Had it together for about 48 hours before I snapped the axel on the tired old steel wheel.
I'm trying to keep the total cost of the bike down so relatively cheap. Ideally to match as closely as possible with the front which is a mavic ma 40 34 spoke rim on a shimano 600 hub. But in reality as long as it's primarily silver I'm interested.
Here's an image of the build for reference: http://flic.kr/p/9PyCh2
