The Vale of Evesham is heralded as the largest producer within Northern Europe, celebrating with a week-long festival every year involving auctions of the best crop and locals dressing up as spears of asparagus as part of the British Asparagus Festival

Well uh. I... was just trying to plant an idea in your heads really, rather than organising a ride that involves me. I'm not allowed to ride for fun anymore, it's considered to be 'junk miles'.

a week ago i was eating asparagus (aspergers) with scrimps and hoolandaise sauce in Flanders, place called Damme near Bruges. nom nom nom. it's the season now and a local speciality, half the menu featured asparagus.

'Plant' an idea in our heads eh? Just say a date Lee, this lot are useless! Have a few semi-junk miles, some of us are in serious training don't you know.

ah thanks love!
Surely someone must have done this already? Every time I go for a ride in South Brum this time of year I go past a farm that advertises sparrow grass for sale. Time to get riding with a musette and fill up on that wonderful stuff! Right now I am chowing down on a bowl of asparagus-topped sourdough with poached eggs, and I think every pedal revolution from now til the last part of June is a pedal revolution wasted unless it is made for the purpose of asparagus acquisition.
