He's just a man, some bloke who struggles to make light of an absurd role which is so morbidly pointless and yet so superficially important that he must lie awake at night in fits of guilt and delirious paranoia, asking himself "is this all real". It pains him so, that he feels the urge to mock the people and the situations he’s put in, yet this only amplifies his sense of isolation and worthlessness.
