  • What you on about? Have you looked at that link?

  • utterly crap in every way.

  • In the politest possible way, please go and see the "Locks That Work" thread over in bikes and bits.

  • Fail Lock

  • Look at the videos, they are pretty impressive!

    http://tigrlock.com/pages/

  • piece of shit.
Why doesn't he cut it width ways with the croppers? Because it wouldn't last a second.

  • When its locking the bike, it would be pretty hard to get big bolt cutters sideways on that thing

  • depends how you lock it and what it's locked too. I also don't trust how he doesn't compare it against existing locks. Only random pieces of metal like the aluminium which in his own words would never be used as a bike lock. And that D lock that the car jack got used on doesn't count, it was plastic.

  • i could cut through that with my wit alone

  • As this diagram shows, however fancy the technology may be, it doesn't stop your forks, hubs, spokes, seatpost, saddle, stem, bars, bottom bracket, crankset, pedals, chain and anything else getting stolen:

  • There are some VERY narrow minded people here...

What you on about? Have you looked at that link?

No, have YOU looked at that link, this bloke needs backers to help fund his project and guess what, hes overshot his pledge goal by nearly $30,000 with still 16 days left to go, whatever happens this bloke has got this one in the bag and will make a nice amount of money with this. Not to mention that this is kickstarter, for those who don't know, to even reach your pledge goal on kickstarter is an achievement let alone smash the target.

As far as the narrow minded ones in here, you don't seem to appreciate the fact that this is a first account of someone's idea, its a new beginning to a new source of processing and manufacturing WHICH can lead to better designs. I'm happy for him and as far as i'm concerned, hes managed to put into practice a lightweight material that is strong and fit for purpose for future development. Just because it's long and thin and maybe a bit too big and you can't fit it in your little holsters round your belt doesn't mean it can't do the task in hand.

i could cut through that with my wit alone

    oh dear...

  • I think the idea is quite cool, be interesting to see it against some high end locks. Folks are too quick to dismiss it because of its unconventional design but I think it has potential.

  • Indeed experts everywhere...you don't even wanna see the ghey pitlock thread

  • There are some VERY narrow minded people here...

No, have YOU looked at that link, this bloke needs backers

No, have you been to Evans and looked at the locks? Some of them will be made of rubber bands and paper clips, but still are being sold to general public.
It's an idea and nothing more. A fancy, but silly one.

And yes, I was also sent that link by Kickstarter as I back other projects.

  • This bike isn't locked at all. WTF?!
You can take the frame with you after undoing 4 nuts.

  • Kids these days.

  • I like to see the video doing a comparison with the popular Fahgettaboutit lock instead of the normal one.

I'm guessing that one will take more than 5 second, if the small shackle on my chain lock took a good 30 second to cut, the Fah Mini will be longer.

  • this lock looks awesome. you are a bunch of grumpy fucks... read the site & watch the videos!

the large is however of course massive and cumbersome BUT when they make a smaller one that fits inside the cavity of a brompton seat post i'll be all over that!

    if you're a magician

  • this lock looks awesome.

    As a novelty item, yes.
    Prefer Hipcock.

  • It will sell well in Tokyo, though.

  • if you're a magician

    Someone stole the fork already...

  • This bike isn't locked at all. WTF?!
You can take the frame with you after undoing 4 nuts and cutting the rear triangle

    ftfy

  • who'd want to steal a crack'n'fail anyway?
